Reducing Our Exposure to Toxins: Organic vs non-organic foods

LARGE amounts of herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides are sprayed on SO many crops! These chemicals are shown by numerous studies to be endocrine disrupting, which can result in hormone imbalance, which in turn can lead to disease!

The foods that we should always try to buy organic of are:

-meat

-dairy

-eggs

-produce on the “dirty dozen” list which includes: grapes, potatoes, cherries, apples, peaches, celery, pears, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, nectarines, and spinach.

The produce on the “dirty dozen” list are the crops that are sprayed with the most insecticides, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides, which is why those ones are the most important ones to buy organic.

It’s definitely a plus if the other foods we consume are organic as well, but for a lot of us it’s not realistic to be consuming only organic foods.

Once again: One of the reasons why consuming organic foods is important is because herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides can disrupt hormones and have been shown by many, many, studies to be carcinogenic.

I really hope this was helpful!

Have an amazing day! ❤️

Love,

Marissa
