
Let’s talk chronic inflammation:
While short-term inflammation is essential for healing from wounds/injuries and infections, chronic inflammation is not healthy and plays a role in the development of many diseases and conditions. A few of these diseases and conditions include:
-Alzheimer’s
-Acne
-Arthritis
-Heart disease
-Cancer
Some of the foods/things that can contribute to chronic (not short-term) inflammation include:
-accumulation of toxins
-fried food
-refined carbohydrates (white sugar, pastries, white bread, etc.)
-lard & margarine
-processed meats
-sugary drinks (soda, lemonade, fruit punch, etc.)
-trans fat
-MSG
-dairy
-artificial sweeteners & additives
Some of the foods/things that can help reduce chronic inflammation include:
stress reduction
rest
physical activity
fruit (especially berries)
fatty fish
avocado
beans & lentils
vegetables
nuts
turmeric
olive oil
leafy greens
ginger
garlic
adequate water to help flush out toxins
